“We’re here for you!”

Porträt Jacqueline

Jacqueline, Student and Vice-President of Nightline Zurich.

“I never found written exams to be especially difficult, but presentations were always a horror for me. Speaking in front of others is something I always avoided whenever possible. Unfortunately, these presentations are a significant part of the psychology major. It really helped me to become aware of the fact that my fear mainly stemmed from the possibility of being evaluated negatively. I then started requesting a lot of feedback. In doing so, I noticed that my audience reacted a lot more positively that I expected. This gave me so much courage that today I even teach a few courses. Just three years ago this would have been almost unthinkable. I am currently the vice-president of Nightline Zurich, which is an anonymous help-line where students in Zurich can reach out if they’re having any kind of issues. Exam anxiety and general stress during studies are topics that can be discussed with us in a judgment-free environment. We aim to provide food for thought that can help students develop their own solutions. So if something is weighing you down, give us a call or write us a message. We’re here for you!”
